Under the cooperation protocol signed by Akincilar Ballistic Chairman Ahmet Can Uzuntepe and Mursel Aliyev, President of the Scientific Research Institute of the Ministry of Defense Industry of Azerbaijan, a joint production facility and test laboratory will be established in Azerbaijan.
The company, which produces ballistic vests, ballistic helmets, bulletproof wearable technologies, military assault vests, special operational clothing, tactical and outdoor clothing in Izmir with local and national capabilities, will carry out part of its innovative textile work at the factory to be established in Baku.
Le Monde also noted that the Bamako Expo Fair (BAMEX'25), organized by Turkey in Mali last year, carried the military and technological dimension of relations to a new level. Held under the leadership of the Presidency of Defence Industries (SSB) and marking a first for Mali, the fair brought together leading Turkish defense industry organizations such as Baykar, ASELSAN, Roketsan, MKE, STM, Kalekalıp, 3E, Sarsılmaz, Atlas, ESSAV, SkyDagger, ZSR, Akincilar, Hedef Defence and Akdaş Silah, which showcased their products and capabilities.
It was reported that the fruits of this strong partnership, whose seeds were planted with BAMEX'25, were also reflected in a recent international organization held in Turkey. Senior military and bureaucratic figures from Mali who attended the SAHA 2026 International Defence, Aerospace and Space Industry Fair, held under the leadership of SAHA Istanbul on 5-9 May 2026, were reported to have held highly important meetings in Turkey.
The French press told its readers that, following this intense diplomatic and military traffic, the two countries are expected to sign much larger and more comprehensive cooperation agreements in the near future.
The French newspaper Le Monde published a report highlighting Turkey's steps in Mali.
The report noted that France and Russia's influence in African countries has declined, while trade between Ankara and Bamako has tripled over the last 10 years.
It stated that Turkey has been advancing in Mali "quietly but deeply" across various fields, particularly in the defense industry.
Referring to the Malian administration's cooperation with different countries, the report emphasized that Turkey stands out in these partnerships and stated: "They are advancing quietly but strategically. For Mali, Turkey has become an indispensable partner for the import of unmanned aerial vehicles, military equipment and training. Turkish private security companies are also reported to be operating in Mali. Dozens of agreements have been signed between the two countries."
The report underlined that relations between the two countries gained new momentum after President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's official visit in 2018, and highlighted the Bamako Expo Fair (BAMEX'25), organized by Turkey in Mali last year, as one of the important steps contributing to the development of relations.
It also emphasized that BAMEX, where leading organizations of the sector such as Baykar, ASELSAN, Roketsan, MKE, STM, Kalekalıp, 3E, Sarsılmaz, Atlas, ESSAV, SkyDagger, ZSR, Akincilar, Hedef Defence and Akdaş Silah introduced their products and capabilities under the leadership of the Presidency of Defence Industries (SSB), was a first for Mali.
The report stated that the relations developed through BAMEX were also reflected in SAHA EXPO 2026 held in Turkey, noting that senior Malian figures held important meetings at the SAHA 2026 International Defence, Aerospace and Space Industry Fair, organized under the leadership of SAHA Istanbul on 5-9 May, and that the two countries may sign further cooperation agreements in different areas in the near future.

The team, which set out for the United States of America to represent Türkiye at IREC 2025, visited Izmir Governor Dr. Süleyman Elban before the journey. During the meeting, the URAL Rocket was presented, and the Governor signed the rocket’s fin before sending the team off to the competition.
At IREC 2025 in Midland, Texas, the URAL Rocket met the skies of the United States. This journey toward the 10,000 feet target symbolizes young engineers turning knowledge, determination and teamwork into a concrete achievement, and represents our Crescent and Star flag on the international stage.
